PreAps – We have been working on our African Literature unit, reading “Cell One” and an excerpt from Scribbling the Cat which we focus on close reading and how diction can be used to develop setting. Friday, we will read “Looking for a Rain God,” focusing on the SIFT method of analysis.
English II- We have began our African unit with watching Chimamanda Adichie’s lecture on “The Danger of a Single Story” from TedTalks. After an interesting discussion after the video, we are writing a personal paragraph focusing on our own personal single story. This final draft is due on this coming Monday. Today and tomorrow, we will read “Cell One” and focus on plot and characterization. Here are the notes from today: Plot Structure and Character Notes
